Ms. JD's Global Education Fund Presents:
The 2nd Annual Cocktail Benefit
Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 6-9:30 p.m.
111 Minna Art Gallery, 111 Minna St, San Francisco, CA 94105
Thursday, August 21, 2014 Ms. JD’s Global Education Fund will host its 2nd annual Cocktail Benefit to raise money for its eight women law scholars at Makerere University in Uganda. The event will take place at the trendy 111 Minna Art Gallery in San Francisco, CA from 6 p.m.-9:30 p.m.
The Global Education Fund (GEF) enables women in developing countries to pursue legal educations who would otherwise lack access to higher education. GEF partners with Makerere University in Uganda, where more than 45% of women over the age of 25 have no schooling and men are more than twice as likely as women to have access to higher education.
Ms. JD chose to work with Makerere University through its Gender Mainstreaming Directive to provide this opportunity to women from low income backgrounds because of the multiplier effect. For every two law scholars the Global Education Fund Sponsors the Carnegie Corporation matches the grant and sponsors six additional scholars!

The event will feature live bands, comprised of lawyers and professionals from local companies, a silent auction, and the presentation of the Ms. JD Global Education Award of Excellence for contributions to women’s rights to education. Hors d'oeuvres will be served. Please email email@example.com for sponsorship inquiries.
Pre-sale tickets will be available for $35 until July 31st. Regular tickets will be available starting August 1st for $40. Student tickets are also available for $20 with a valid student ID.
